Translation and certification

Depending on the purpose of the document and the requirements of the receiving organisation, official certification of the translation or a copy of the original document may be required.

Where necessary, we can arrange certification of the translation by a court-appointed translator (sudski tumač) for an additional fee. We can also certify the translation with the Scriptae Agency stamp at no extra charge.

In some cases, documents must be submitted with a notarised copy confirming that it is a true copy of the original. This copy is attached to the translation, and whether notarisation is required depends on the requirements of the organisation receiving the documents. We can help arrange this procedure if needed.

The stamp of a translation agency may be sufficient for some organisations, including certain banks. In other cases, certification by a court-appointed translator or notarisation may be required. If the documents are to be translated into Montenegrin and certified by a court-appointed translator later, please check in advance whether the existing translation can be used.

Scriptae Agency is based in Igalo, in the municipality of Herceg Novi, Montenegro. You can collect completed documents in person or receive them by courier. International delivery is available only via DHL or postal services.
